NO SCHOOL JULY 21, 22

Due to the continued statewide disruptions of the Skyward student information system, Alcoa City Schools has made the difficult decision to delay the opening of school until Thursday, July 23.Β  All Alcoa City Schools will be closed on Tuesday, July 21, and Wednesday, July 22, 2026.Β  All teachers and staff will report. Lily brings a passion for supporting students and creating a welcoming environment where every child can thrive. As someone who is bilingual in both English and Spanish, she is committed to helping students feel confident, supported, and successful in the classroom while building strong relationships with our students, staff, and families.

Meet Mr. James Rainer

πŸŽ‰ Welcome to the AMS Family, Mr. James Rainer! πŸŒͺ️

Alcoa Middle School is excited to welcome Mr. James Rainer as our new Paraprofessional for the 2026–2027 school year!

A proud Alcoa native and Alcoa High School graduate, Mr. Rainer brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and a heart for serving others. After earning his degree from ETSU, he spent eight years with Apple Inc. as a Post Production Engineer before returning home to invest in the community that helped shape him. He has also dedicated more than a decade to coaching sprint athletes for Alcoa High School's Track & Field program.

When he's not at school or on the track, Mr. Rainer enjoys spending time with his daughters, Faith and Leela, coaching, golfing, fishing, and playing his PS5.

Please join us in giving Mr. James Rainer a warm Alcoa Middle School welcome! We are excited to have him as part of the Tornado family and can't wait to see the positive impact he'll make on our students each day.
