Musicals Through the Decades in Google Classroom

Musicals Through the Decades

With a partner/group:
You will collect information about an assigned musical from a specific decade (info sheet provided by Mrs. Egan)
You will create 2 Google slides (that are part of 1 Google slide presentation for the whole class) that contain FACTS about the show, information about the COMPOSER, and details about the STORY
You will need to listen to a few songs from the musical & decide which song to include in your slides
You will need to find images from the musical & decide which ones to include in your slides
Design your slides to reflect the “look” of your musical
When you are done, you will be teaching your classmates about your assigned musical

Complete the reflection using these guidelines:

Type a reflection in Google Docs. The reflection should be TWO PARTS:
a.     PART 1: Explain your composition choices (the genre you selected, the vision/sound for the song, why certain loops were chosen to achieve a desired sound).
b.     PART 2: Discuss what positives you gained from the project, what improvements could be made, and any other helpful feedback.
2.     At the bottom of your reflection, score your composition using the student rubric – type the component and number score (see rubric categories below) 
3.     We will present final compositions in class anonymously to reflect on the experience.

RUBRIC CATEGORIES - 1 is not accomplished, 2 is getting there, 3 is achieved.

TO DOWNLOAD, SAVE, AND SUBMIT:
1. Rename your project with your name (ex. "Alison B.")
2 While in projects, click the 3 horizontal dots to the right of your assignment & choose "download" then "mp3." This saves your song as an mp3 to your downloads.
3. Go to Google Drive. Select "+New" and "file upload" - your song should be listed first in your downloads option.
4. Go to Google Classroom & attach the song to your assignment. Choose "+add" and Google Drive to find your song. Attach, turn in.
