*Science - 6th Period-Adderhold Assignments

I have attached the directions and the rubric for this assignment.  We will look at them in class today.  If you are absent make sure to read through the directions and look at the Rubric.

This assignment is due by Thursday at midnight.  If turned in late it will be an automatic 10 points off the final grade.  The last day to submit is Saturday

Watch the video on Simple Machines, write down the names of the simple machines they discuss and answer the questions in the video.

Go to the link below to get to the Gizmo on Mouse Genetics and complete the Gizmo.  The instructions on how to complete the Gizmo are given to you step by step, so make sure to read and follow them.  

*In class students will get the students exploration sheet.  
**If you are absent complete the Gizmo using the Google Doc below.

Complete the notes/slides on Heredity and Genetics, as well as take notes on the paper you are being given on what you should know when you are done.

In class today, you are going to get notes to fill in using the slides on Tissue, Organs, & Organ Systems.  There are some videos linked throughout the slides that you should watch, especially the one on tissue and any of the organ systems that you are not familiar with.

*If you are absent today you can fill in the notes on the Google Doc.

Complete the fill in the blank notes and slides on asexual and sexual reproduction.  

*If you are in class you will be given a paper copy of the notes to fill in, and if you are at home you can complete the digital version.  

**Pay close attention to the difference between the two types of reproduction and the advantages/disadvantages of both.

Complete the slides by following the directions given.  Make sure you answer to the best of your ability because your answers will be checked and a grade given on how well you did on the practice.

Complete all the lab station activities on Mitosis and Meiosis.

In class today, they are going to watch an EdPuzzle on Mitosis vs Meiosis and then complete a Venn Diagram they will be given.  If you are at home today, go ahead and watch the EdPuzzle and you will be given Venn Diagram when you are back in class.

Go to the Gizmo link and use the student sheet to guide you through the Meiosis Gizmo.  Make sure to answer all questions.

Once you have completed the EdPuzzle, go to the slides on Meiosis.  Complete the slides and take notes on anything you think you should probably write down.

We are taking a test today on Photosynthesis, Cellular Respiration, and Cellular Transport.  If you are absent you will take the test when you come back to school.  Everyone should watch the Edpuzzle on Mitosis and answer the questions before class tomorrow.

Complete the Osmosis Gizmo by following the instructions and answering the questions on the Osmosis Gizmo SE below.  The link for Explore Learning is below and remember your login should be the same as you Chromebook login.

Complete the all the stations on Photosynthesis.  


*If you get finished with the stations play the Photosynthesis game from the link below the stations.

Complete the EdPuzzle on Photosynthesis first.  Then go to the Photosynthesis INB.  Read through the information and complete any questions or tasks on the slides.  You may want to take notes on any important information, especially if it is something new to you and you think you should remember it.

Go to the Explore Learning link below, login and you are going to complete the gizmo on Cell Energy Cycle.


If you are in class you will get the gizmo paper with instructions and questions to answer.  If you are at home use the Google Doc below for instructions and type in your answers.

If you are not in class complete the Kahoot before tomorrow's test.

Complete the Kahoot review at home for the Quiz tomorrow in class.

Once you have taken the quiz and then completed 'Flynn Cell City', I want you to watch this EdPuzzle and answer the questions.  Use the video and rewind to help you answer the questions, because it gives you the answers!

If you are not in class today complete the Cell Organelle Read and Apply.

Complete the following slides.

We are taking a labeling quiz on animal and plant cells during class today.  You can take the quiz when you get back in class.  


Your assignment today: Complete the attached using analogies between the functions of the different places or things in the city and the function of the different cell organelles.

First complete the Edpuzzle video and questions.  
When you have finished the EdPuzzle, use the knowledge you obtained from the video as well as the websites provided below to fill in the cell organelle and function table.

In class - you will be given a paper copy of Introduction to Cells to complete and a page to fill out while looking through and completing the slides on the 'Cell Theory'.


If you are absent complete the Introduction to Cells on the Google Doc.  Then use the slides on 'Cell Theory' to take notes (focus on the scientist and what they did for the cell theory) and complete any slides that have questions of tasks.

Complete the Cell Structure Gizmo on the Google Doc.  

if you miss class today you need to watch the video and answer the questions while watching.  Take notes on the difference between Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic Cells.

Below are links to 2 different Kahoots for you to complete that will help you review for the test.  The test will cover Elements, Compounds, Mixtures, Chemical and Physical Properties, Chemical and Physical Changes, Counting Atoms and Balancing Equations.  When you finish the Kahoots you can continue to study for the test with the Quizlet Review or the Quizizz.  When you think you are ready to for the test you can work on anything else from another class or read.

Complete the Counting Atoms and Elements Lab Stations.  


**If you get finished will all your assignments there are some Study Island Reviews that will be due next week, you can go ahead and work on completing them.  Remember you will need at least a ribbon to be given credit.

READ ALL THESE INSTRUCTIONS:
You are going to fill in the notes and complete the slides on Counting Atoms and Elements. 


*If you are in class you will fill in the notes on the paper you are given in class.
**If you are absent: make a copy of the Google DOC, change the name and then you can fill in the notes on your Chromebook.  You may want to open to windows and make sure to zoom in so it is easier to see.

Complete the 'Chemical Changes Station Labs'.  If you get finished with the station labs, I have assigned 'Chemical Reactions' on Think Central for you to begin.

1st complete the EdPuzzle and questions.  Make sure to take your time and use the video to answer the questions correctly.  Once you have finished the EdPuzzle, complete the second activity attached below 'Properties of Matter'.  This will help you understand and review the physical and chemical properties of matter.  Both of these are due tomorrow.

You are going to use the link to the PhET simulation below to complete the 'Build a Molecule' simulation.  You will be given a worksheet in class that has step-by-step instructions on how to complete the assignment.  You will fill in the questions and tables on the paper using the simulation.  
**If you are absent today you can get the instructions tomorrow when you get back.  If you are going to be out for several days I will email you the document with the information to complete.

Complete this activity and turn in.

Go to the Google Doc and use the links provided for each each section to complete the assignment.
- For the first section that asks you to draw what you see, click on the circle and then click on edit.
This will allow you to edit the drawing to put what you see.
- For the facts, you just have to click in the box and you can type.

In class students, complete the slides and fill in the blanks on the notes you are given in class from the information on the slides.


**If you are absent fill in the slides and then use the Google Doc to fill in the notes from the slides.

In class you will complete the escape room.  I will give more detailed instructions in class.
**If you are at home learner today and have questions email me.

All students will work on researching an element this week.  You will choose your element during class today.  If you are absent for class I will email you the name of your element after class today.  In class students will receive the Element Research paper to fill out in class, and any absent students have the document below. 

Complete all the digital stations on the Periodic Table.  

Complete the slides and the fill in the blanks notes on the Periodic Table.  It would probably be easier to open two windows side by side and do both at the same time.  You also have the option to print the notes that are fill in the blanks if you have access to a printer.

Follow the step by step directions on how to create and label a periodic table.  Don't forget to fill in the table that goes along with this assignment as well.  Will probably be easier to have two windows open to follow directions and complete, unless you have a printer and can print directions.  They also give you an example to look at if you have questions about what your table should look like in the end.

Go to each doc, use the link at the top of the doc to get to the video, then use the video to fill in the blanks on the doc.  It will probably be easier if you open two windows to complete.

Complete the Build an Atom activity - You can use the link on the doc to reach the PheT simulation.  It would probably be easier to complete this assignment if you open two windows and have the doc in one window and the simulation in the other.  You could also print the doc if you have a printer and fill it in that way and either retype your answers, bring it back if you are coming back Wed. or take screenshots and email to me.  


*In class students are taking a short quiz today on the scientist and what they contributed to the 'Atomic Theory'.  If you are not in class today you will take this quiz on Wednesday!


**We are all out Friday now and we were already out Monday for Labor Day.  There is also a PD day on Tuesday, so no school for students.  That means after today there will be no new work posted until Wednesday.  Since we have this extra time make sure any missing work on Classroom that you have not completed gets finished before Wednesday when we are all back.  This assignment included!

Complete the following stations on Atoms.  

Any students who are absent from class today (Thursday 8/26) and/or tomorrow, go to the first link that is the Google Slides Intractive NB on Atoms and complete all the slides by answering or doing any of the tasks on each slide.  Then once you are finished with the slides, open the second link for the Google Doc and fill in the blanks on the notes using the Google Slides Interactive NB.  
**A huge helpful tip to complete the Google Docs notes is to open two windows side by side and fill in the blanks using the Google Slides Interactive Notes.

Go to the Google Forms link below and complete the 20 question Quiz.  Take your time and make sure you have answered all the questions before you hit submit.  The lock mode is on, so you will not be able to visit any other websites without it sending me a notification.  If I receive a notification then you will be given a zero on the quiz, and have to retake a paper form which will be averaged with the zero.
