Science - 6th Grade-6th Period - Adderhold Assignments

I have attached the directions and the rubric for this assignment.  You can turn in your video here or share with me on Google Drive.  

This assignment is due by Tuesday, May 9th.  If turned in late it will be an automatic 10 points off the final grade.  The last day to submit is Friday, May 12th by 3:30 pm.

Use the Google Slides on Severe Weather and Weather Safety to fill in the notes.  Students that are in class today will receive a paper copy of the notes to complete.

If you are absent from class today, go to the first link which is a Google Doc with directions for today's assignment.

Follow the directions on the slides and complete the Weather Instruments Sort

If you are absent from class today you need to do the Kahoot to help you get ready for the Test on Global Winds and Ocean Currents on Monday.

All students are going to complete this EdPuzzle when you are done with the What Influences Weather Notes.  

*After you complete the EdPuzzle I have attached a website with some games about weather that you can go and play!

Go to 'Think Central' through Classlink, and under 'Thinks to Do' there is the digital lesson, "What Influences Weather".  Use that digital lesson to complete the attached questions/notess!

Go to the Density Lab Gizmo through Explore Learning - Gizmos on Classlink.  Use the attached form to complete the Density Lab Gizmo.  Follow the instructions and answer the questions.

Go to the Ocean Currents slides below.  Use the slides to answer the questions on Ocean Currents on the handout.  You also need to answer any questions on the slides.

* Not each slide is labeled, so I have labeled some sections on the questions to help you figure out what slides will have those answers for you.  The questions do follow along with the order of the slides!

Watch the video and answer the questions.

When you finish the EdPuzzle: 
1) Make sure you have completed all the questions on paper and the slides from yesterday on Ocean Currents.  This is due Monday!
2) If you have completed EdPuzzle and the assignment from yesterday, then you can work on any assignments from another class, IReady or read.

Complete the attached reading and questions on Ocean Currents if you are absent from school today.

Also, make sure you have completed the Gizmo from last Friday!

Go to Explore Learning Gizmos through Classlink and use the Google Doc attached for directions on how to complete the Gizmo and questions that you will need to answer.

Complete the attached assignment to get ready for the quiz tomorrow on Global Winds.

Go to Think Central in Classlink.  When you get to Think Central go under Things To Do and there is a digital lesson on Wind in the Atmosphere.  Use that digital lesson to complete the attached Google Doc with Vocabulary and Questions.

Watch the video on Atmosphere and take notes.

Students in class today: Go to the Google Slides below on Atmosphere and complete anything on the slides as well as the fill in the blank notes handed out to you in class.  

Students who are absent: Go to the Google Slides below on Atmosphere and complete anything on the slides as well, but then you would use the link under the slides to fill in the digital notes and complete the slides.

*Anyone who did not complete the Digital Water Cycle Stations from Friday should get those done because they were due on Monday, but would be due today since we were out of school on Monday.

**If you complete all the assignments then you can work on IReady, something from another class or read!!

Complete this practice on basic steps of the water cycle.

Complete each of the digital stations and move the DONE shape when each is finished.  After you have completed each section make sure you remember to TURN IN the assignment.

**If you are at home today use a sheet of notebook paper to record the correct Red Letters. Then unscramble those Red Letters to get the SECRET PASSWORD.

This is the template to use for the Wanted Poster.  If you have not been in class you will get this template once you have completed the Research Question that go along with this assignment.

Read or let the computer read the guided practice for you and then answer the questions.

Today you are going to complete a Food Chain Gizmo and watch an EdPuzzle on Symbiosis and answer questions.

FIRST ASSIGNMENT:  Food Chain Gizmo - go to the Explore Learning Gizmo link through the Classlink page.  Once you get there you are going to click on the Food Chain Gizmo.  You are going to complete this Food Chain Gizmo using the handout in class that has all the instructions. If you are absent from class go to the Google Doc below the EdPuzzle link and use that to complete the Food Chain Gizmo.   
     -  Make sure to read all the directions given because it gives you exactly what you need to do to complete the assignment!  
     -  After the Gizmo Warm-up make sure when you go to Activty A that you read the box to get the Gizmo ready!  
     -  Where it asks for predictions on some of the questions you write what you think will happen (increase or decrease) and then after              you are told to click PLAY you fill in the results of what happened (increase or decrease).


SECOND ASSIGNMENT:  Symbiosis Brainpop on EdPuzzle - click on the EdPuzzle link below, watch the video and answer the questions.

When you complete all your assignments you can work on an assignment from another class if you don't owe me any missing work, work on IReady or read :)

Go to Explore Learning Gizmo through Classlink and using the Google Doc below complete the Rabbit Population by Season Gizmo.  The step by step instructions are on the Doc as well as the questions you need to answer.

*It will probably easier to complete if you either print the Doc or open two windows.

You are going to use the Life Science Slides to make sure you have everything for you flipbook and to review the vocabulary we have been studying for the last two weeks.  There are some slides with links to videos and games to play, so make sure you pay attention to directions given on the slides and visit those sites.  Whether you are in class today or at home do not go past slide 21!

Here is the PheT Simulation Document for absent students.  The link to the PheT simulation is on the top of the class stream.  Only complete 1 - 5 on the first page if you are at home.

Go to the Google Slides: Conduction, Convection and Radiation Station Labs linked below and complete all the stations.  There are six different activities for you to complete.  
     - Make sure you read the directions carefully and complete all the questions or tasks given.  
     - Once you have completed a station go back to 'The Lab Room' and move the blue shape into the empty gray space to show you have         completed that station.  I would do the Illustrate it! task last in case you have problems getting it completed.  I also included a few             extra instructions about it.  
     - When all of the stations are completed make sure you go back to Google Classroom and hit Turn In. 

*On the Illustrate It!, the first slide gives you directions on what your picture(s) should look like.  The second slide gives you the options on how to do the picture as well as instructions on how to get the picture placed in the empty white box on the first slide.

Read all of the directions because in class students and absent students will have a slightly different assignment!

Go to Classlink and find the app titled Explore Learning Gizmo.  Go to the Gizmo app and using the document attached below complete the Gizmo and answer the questions.  The Google Doc gives step-by-step instruction on what you are suppose to do.

Below is an energy forms practice.  Follow the directions and turn in when completed.

Yesterday in class we looked at the Energy Skate Park Basic together.  Today you are going to do a simulation on your own!  If you are in class you will be getting the document to fill out, and if you are an at home learner today you will fill in the Google Doc attached.  FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN!

*At home learners you might want to open 2 windows to use the Doc for instructions and answers while also viewing the simulation.
