When you have finished your summary and making your test, you will move onto today's assignment.

You will have Wednesday and Thursday to work on your paper.  The paper is due at the end of class on Thursday.

You are going to answer the essential question for this unit.  "Should we make a home in space?"  You need to construct a solid Thesis statement.  The Thesis is what your paper will prove. We have read several stories and articles in this unit to help you answer the question.  Choose your position and write an argumentative essay that proves your position.  However, remember that you will need a counter claim in your essay.  Evidence is very important so you need to reference at least 2 articles in your essay to use as evidence to support your supporting details.  I have included an outline to help you!.

Once your are finished you will switch chromebooks and have a peer read your essay.  Your peer will read the essay and then look for and highlight the following; Topic Sentence: Pink, Evidence-Orange, and Thesis-Blue.  Once your Peer has reviewed your paper make any necessary adjustments and then turn it in.

Topic Sentence- One of the first sentences of a paragraph..It tells you what the paragraph is about.
Evidence- Proves your thesis or main points.  Usually cited from text.
Thesis-  It tells the reader what the essay will prove.

When you  are finished you need to begin to work on the TN Ready Practice questions.
