I am a graduate of Alcoa City Schools. I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration, Masters in Curriculum & Instruction, and Doctor of Philosophy in Education, Leadership, and Policy Studies all from the University of Tennessee.
I coordinate the AMS Jayteens, AMS Garden Club, and the AMS TCLUB rotating trips to Walt Disney World (Orlando, Florida), New York / Lancaster, PA, or Washington, D.C. I am honored to serve as the Social Studies Curriculum Coordinator for Alcoa Middle School.
In addition to my school responsibilities, I am the president of the Empty Pantry Fund (501C-3 organization) and serve as an Adjunct Professor at Carson Newman University.

About Class
Social Studies Curriculum: Students are provided a notebook to complete when completing each lesson. We do not use a traditional textbook in this class; however, we will use a combination of the following: online textbook, books, document-based questions, youtube videos, web searches, lecture/discussion, and movies.
*When students are absent, they can access daily lessons on Google Classroom: go to CLASSWORK, look for the assignment for that day (date & day listed), and work through the lesson. On most days, the student will need to complete notes in their notebook, watch videos, and may have an assignment that goes along with the lesson.
