Welcome to 7th/8th grade at Alcoa Middle School. I hope you are as excited as I am to get this new school year started. I am thrilled to be your teacher and look forward to a fun and productive year together.

In my classroom, I work hard to promote a tight-knit community that is encouraging, safe, fair, and fun. My goal is to challenge students and watch them grow to their full potential. I work hard all year long doing this by building a classroom that encourages risk-taking thinking, respect, trust, and a sense of ownership among students. I truly understand the enormity of my job, and I relish the responsibility and the rewards. I also believe that parents, teachers, and students must work as a team to achieve their highest potential.

A little bit about myself; I was born and raised in Knoxville and went to the University of Tennessee. I have two children; both graduated from Alcoa High School. My son, Austin, graduated from MTSU and is a pilot with Endeavor Air. My daughter, Haley, is a senior at UT and is majoring in elementary education. We also have two fabulous four-legged family members. Ruby, a nine-year-old Cocker Spaniel, and Piper, a four-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. We enjoy boating, going to the beach, skiing, and just spending time together at home. You will hear lots of stories and see numerous pictures of my cherished family.
