Profile
I am honored and excited to serve Alcoa Middle School as the Academic Dean. I have been a middle school science teacher for 25+ years having taught in Louisiana, Alabama, and Tennessee. I was honored to receive the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching in 2007. It was amazing and humbling experience to represent Tennessee and go to the White House. I served as a writer of the Tennessee State Science Standards, the Next Generation Science Standards, a member of the state Science Leadership Committee, and as a national professional development provider to teachers.
On a personal note, I am originally from New Orleans, La. We moved to Tennessee in 2003 because we fell in love with the area's beauty and thought it would be a wonderful place to raise our four daughters. Two of my daughters have graduated from the University of Tennessee, another graduated from Trevecca University and was a collegiate basketball player, and the youngest is attending Notre Dame.
I look forward to a wonderful school year full of learning!
Sincerely,
