Faculty Bio
I am a graduate of Johnson University with a Bachelor of Music Education, K-12 ('22) and a Master of Arts in Holistic Education ('23). Before taking my current position, I taught general music and choir at AIS and choir in Knox County Schools. I have been studying music since I was twelve in the form of vocal music and piano, competing at the local, state, and national levels for classical vocal music.
Outside of teaching choir at AHS and AMS, I conduct the Emerald Youth Foundation Choir and Praise Dance Team. I am also the worship leader at Emerald Avenue United Methodist Church. I am passionate about teaching choral music and growing our students into well-rounded musicians. I hope to foster in them a lifelong love for music and singing.
While students study with me, we will work towards the goals of achieving excellence in choral singing, fostering healthy singing techniques and posture, growing a working knowledge of music theory and history, and learning how to thrive in a group environment. They will engage in meaningful experiences of high-quality music education and performance opportunities. Not only will students develop skills in music and performance, but they will also develop skills such as self-confidence, consistency, and attention to detail.
I am excited and proud to be an Alcoa Tornado and look forward to expanding the programs here!
