Welcome to my class page, which will more than likely be a continual work in progress! I figure the best place to start is by telling you just a little about myself. I was born and raised in Alcoa, TN. After graduating high school, I attended Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN. There I received a Bachelor of Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice and Sociology. I stayed in middle Tennessee for about a year and half working in the mental health field with 'at risk' youth. It was during this time of working with 'at risk' youth that I discovered my desire to become an educator. I decided to apply for what was once known as the Lyndhurst Program through the University of Tennessee and was accepted. It was through this program, that consisted of a year long internship coupled with education classes, that I received my Masters of Science in Elementary Education K-8. In 2006 I started teaching at Alcoa Middle School and have been here ever since. This year I will be teaching mainly 6th grade science, but I will have one class of 7th grade science. I am excited to be going back to 6th grade this year, and I'm so happy to have the opportunity to teach where I grew up. As always "It's Great to be an Alcoa Tornado"!!!!
